Surveyor\n Garages repairs & maintenance \n Housing Association Sector\n Swindon and Surrounding Areas (within approximately 1 hour travel)\n Permanent Employment Contract\n\nAbout Us\n Build Recruitment provides specialist recruitment services, supplying quality candidates on a temporary or permanent basis to leading organisations throughout the built environment — from executive to operative level.\n With offices in London, Manchester and the Southwest, we specialise in Housing, Construction, Facilities Management, Property, Surveying, Health & Safety and Sales.\n We are currently working with a leading housing association seeking an experienced Surveyor to manage the inspection, repair and maintenance of its garage portfolio across Bristol and the surrounding region.\n \n The Role\n As a Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing the condition, maintenance and repair of housing association-owned garages and associated assets. Acting as the client's representative, you will manage contractors, inspect completed works and ensure that repairs and maintenance activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.\n \n This role offers a varied workload across a geographically dispersed portfolio, with regular site visits to garage locations within approximately one hour's drive of Swindon.\n \n This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected organisation on a permanent basis.\n \n Key Responsibilities\n\nCarry out inspections of garages and associated structures to assess condition, identify defects and specify required repairs.\nManage responsive repairs, cyclical maintenance and minor improvement works across the garage portfolio.\nOversee contractor performance, ensuring works are completed to agreed standards, timescales and budgets.\nUndertake post-inspection quality checks and audits of completed works.\nInvestigate reports of defects, damage, anti-social behaviour and health and safety concerns relating to garage sites.\nPrepare schedules of works, specifications and repair recommendations.\nMonitor expenditure and ensure value for money in the delivery of maintenance services.\nEnsure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, policies and procedures.\nLiaise with tenants, leaseholders, contractors and internal stakeholders to resolve maintenance issues effectively.\nMaintain accurate property records, inspection reports and management information.\nSupport the delivery of asset management objectives and continuous service improvement initiatives.Requirements\n\nPrevious experience in a Surveyor, Building Surveyor, Property Surveyor, Asset Surveyor or Property Maintenance role.\nExperience within social housing, residential property, asset management or maintenance environments.\nKnowledge of building defects, repairs diagnosis and maintenance practices.\nExperience managing contractors and monitoring work quality.\nGood understanding of health and safety compliance and risk management.\nStrong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to manage a varied workload and work independently across multiple sites.\nProficient in producing inspection reports and technical recommendations.\nFull UK Driving Licence What's on Offer\n\nCompetitive hourly rate, dependent on experience.\nWeekly pay.\nHybrid working with a combination of home working and site-based inspections.\nCompany van, fuel cardFor further information or to apply, please contact Kirsty @ Build Recruitment - (phone number removed)
