Registered Manager

Job Description

🏠 Registered Manager – Children's Residential (EBD)

\n

\n

📍 London, NW1

\n

💰 £52,000 basic (up to £58,600 with bonuses)

\n

🚗 Company car or £3,000 travel allowance

\n

\n

Area Camden has held Good and Outstanding Ofsted ratings since 2014, and we're opening a new solo children's home in London. We need an experienced Registered Manager to lead it from day one, supporting young people aged 9 to 17 with complex emotional and behavioural needs.

\n

This isn't a home that already runs on rails. You're building the culture, the team and the standards from scratch, backed by an operator with a genuinely established track record rather than a startup taking a first swing at it. If you want ownership rather than inheriting someone else's way of doing things, this is that role.

\n

\n

💷 What's in it

\n

▸ £52,000 basic salary

\n

▸ Realistic earning potential up to £58,600

\n

▸ Company car or £3,000 annual travel allowance

\n

▸ £300 per month full occupancy bonus

\n

▸ Ofsted bonus: £3,000 for Outstanding, £1,500 for Good

\n

▸ 32 days annual leave including bank holidays, rising by 1 day a year for your first three years

\n

▸ Workplace pension post probation

\n

▸ Mobile phone provided, plus a local parking permit

\n

▸ 40 hours per week, you manage your own rota and take part in the on call rota

\n

\n

🎯 What you'll be doing

\n

▸ Leading the reopening and registration process, appointment subject to Ofsted approval

\n

▸ Holding overall accountability for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the child

\n

▸ Building a staff team that can actually deliver therapeutic, consistent care

\n

▸ Running the home in line with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards

\n

▸ Driving continuous improvement against Area Camden's standards and ethos

\n

▸ Working closely with placing authorities, families and external professionals

\n

\n

✅ What we're looking for

\n

▸ A Registered Manager or a strong Deputy ready to step up

\n

▸ 2 to 3 years plus in a management role within children's residential care

\n

▸ Solid EBD experience, you know what this cohort needs

\n

▸ NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People

\n

▸ A Leadership and Management qualification, or willingness to work towards one

\n

▸ Strong knowledge of the Children Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000 and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015

\n

▸ The ability to lead staff teams with confidence, professionalism and resilience

\n

\n

You'd also be joining a home backed by a wider, well established group, with designated recruitment, HR, quality assurance, learning and development and safeguarding specialist support behind you, so you're not building this in isolation.

\n

\n

If you've been ready for a home that's yours to shape rather than one you're stepping into halfway through, this is worth a conversation.
