Marine Engagement Lead - Senior Manager

The Marine Engagement Lead Senior Manager provides leadership for stakeholder engagement across the Marine SBU, driving alignment, insight, and influence to support delivery of The Crown Estate’s marine strategy and public value ambitions. Lead the development and execution of engagement programs around the MDR, sector objectives, and leasing programs, coordinating strategic engagement activities, and working closely with internal colleagues across the marine team and Corporate Affairs. Promote productive engagement and drive value by fostering collaborative relationships with external parties, including marine and statutory bodies, fisheries stakeholders, and local communities. Act as the senior engagement lead across the Marine SBU, ensuring coherence, consistency, and strategic alignment of all stakeholder engagement activities across teams and programmes. Lead, plan and coordinate engagement with key stakeholders across the Marine and Energy sectors. Drive decision-making on the co-development with external stakeholders and implementation of the 2050 Marine Delivery Routemap (MDR). Collaborate with colleagues in EAP on external government positioning and engagement. Identify opportunities or risks to further TCE’s Marine and Enterprise strategies. Develop and implement the MDR framework approach to engagement including leasing programmes. Ensure all engagement activities align with the marine strategy, MDR, and The Crown Estate’s wider enterprise strategy. Lead the development of stakeholder strategies and associated communications plans necessary for the delivery of our sector plans and objectives, working closely with EAP and marine SBU partners. Leverage innovative technologies and digital tools to enhance stakeholder engagement and communication. Promote diversity and inclusion within stakeholder engagement activities. Manage interfaces and interactions with other teams involved in stakeholder engagement. Develop and implement crisis management strategies for stakeholder relations. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for stakeholder engagement activities. Regularly report on engagement outcomes and impact. Manage a team of engagement-focused professionals. Provide leadership and guidance, fostering a high-performance culture.

Qualifications\n
    \n
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and managing relationships, including convening/negotiating, within a dynamic business environment.
  • \n
  • Experience writing and delivering stakeholder engagement strategies and plans.
  • \n
  • Excellent understanding of marine spatial planning and The Crown Estate’s key marine sectors (e.g. Offshore Wind, CCUS, Minerals, Ports, Nature) including understanding of marine science, key policies and market drivers.
  • \n
  • Track record delivering engagement with multiple public and private sector stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Well-developed network of marine and energy sector stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Strong communicator (written and verbal) with the ability to build influential relationships with people both internally and externally.
  • \n
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive, and collaborative in approach to work, with drive and determination to succeed.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, enabling impactful engagement with stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Strong project management expertise, showcasing successful leadership in orchestrating initiatives.
  • \n
  • Experience contributing to, presenting at, and delivering events and workshops on technical topics.
  • \n
  • Proficiency in strategic planning, evidenced through contributions to strategy development.
  • \n
  • Familiarity with market insights and their application in strategic initiatives.
  • \n
  • Understanding of sustainability principles and their integration into strategies.
  • \n
  • Prior line management experience.
  • \n
