Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer

We at Orion are recruiting experienced Dual Fuel Smart Metering Engineers to join our expanding metering workforce, installing smart meters in domestic properties across the region. This is a long-term opportunity with excellent earning potential, structured training, and multiple engagement routes to suit your preferred way of working.

Available Packages

1?? PAYE Employed Role

• £42,000 per annum.
\n
• Van & fuel card provided.
\n
• 33 days holiday (25 8 bank holidays).
\n
• Pension (3% employer / 5% employee).
\n
• Perkbox access.
\n
• Recommend-a-friend bonus up to £500.
\n
• All tools, PPE, consumables & parts provided.
\n
• Weekly pay (2 weeks in arrears).

2?? Umbrella PAYE via Umbrella Company

Option A Van Provided

• £200 per day.
\n
• Van & fuel card supplied.
\n

Option B Use Own Van

\n
• £275 per day.
\n
• Paid weekly (2 weeks in arrears).
\n
• Must use an umbrella company from our PSL.
\n

3?? CIS Self-Employed (via approved Umbrella)

\n
• £240 per day.
\n
• Must supply own van & fuel.
\n
• Option to hire a van via Orion (£200/week incl. insurance).
\n
• Paid weekly (2 weeks in arrears).
\n
• Must provide valid UTR.
\n
• Must use an umbrella company from our PSL.
\n

Call-Out Requirements (All Options)

• 1 week in 4
\n
• £400 flat rate per week.
\n
• Shift would be. MonFri: 11am8pm.
\n
• SatSun: 8am5pm.
\n
• Jobs received during shift must be completed.
\n
• Schedule subject to change with notice.
\n

Induction & Training (All Options)

3-week structured programme:

\n
• Week 1: MonTue at training centre remote learning
\n
• Week 2: Local mentoring
\n
• Week 3: Dual Fuel Assessment at the training centre
\n

Additional details:

\n
• Hotel provided if travelling 1hr.
\n
• Van collection (if applicable) from Aylesbury on the Friday before induction.
\n
• Induction is pass/fail.
\n
• You will be required to take a drug and alcohol test that will affect your ongoing employment.
\n

Daily Expectations

\n
• Start at customer property 8am.
\n
• Hours: 8am5pm (MonFri) 1hr lunch
\n
• When on call: 11am8pm
\n
• Minimum 4 completed jobs per day
\n
