We are looking for a college Governor to join our team. This is a voluntary position in which you can play a central role in supporting learners, employers, and the local economy.

\nJob Purpose / Key Responsibilities\n

• Attending in‑person Board meetings at our campuses in Birkenhead four times a year.
\n
• Joining Committee meetings remotely over Teams three to four times a year.
\n
• Carrying out advance work for meetings by reading papers and preparing questions.
\n
• Responding to emails from the Governance Professional regarding general Board business between meetings.
\n
• Representing the Board at College events including Graduation and Staff Awards.
\n
• Keeping up with sector developments.
\n

\nSkills and Qualifications\n

\n
• Expertise in law, property/estates, or HR/people management.
\n
• Can think strategically, ask constructive questions, and champion good governance.
\n
• Value education, opportunity, and inclusion.
\n
• Can commit approximately eight hours per month, with flexibility to accommodate busier and quieter months.
\n
• Previous governance experience is welcome but not essential.
\n
