Rate: Up to £440pd

Clearance: BPSS Eligible

Location: Leeds or Newcastle – 40% on site (travel once per sprint included in the 40%)

We’re looking for an experienced SFIA Level 5 Agile Delivery Manager to join a large public sector organisation, supporting two department-wide digital initiatives focused on improving internal communications and engagement.

\n


\n

About the projects:

\n

One project is reviewing and restructuring communication and engagement tools, addressing high volumes of communication dispatch but low levels of interaction. Having completed its business research phase, it is now moving into a pilot phase, with four pilots running between April and September 2026. The second project is reviewing and designing a new intranet to replace the current third-party platform. Both projects overlap and are essential to restructuring the organisation’s communications and guidance. SFIA Level 5 is required given the scale and department-wide nature of both projects, which demand sustained management and experience to deliver successfully.

What you’ll do:

\n
    \n
  • Manage projects end-to-end, ensuring delivery to agreed parameters of quality, time and cost
  • \n
  • Manage plans, risks, issues and dependencies, escalating effectively where necessary
  • \n
  • Encourage collaboration and shared ownership across the team; manage conflict and help build a positive team culture
  • \n
  • Build and manage stakeholder relationships across internal teams and suppliers, proactively identifying and managing risks and issues
  • \n
  • Track and manage project progress and budget, producing accurate reporting to senior teams and governance boards
  • \n
  • Actively manage change and governance for your projects, factoring in cross-project impacts
  • \n
  • Communicate consistently across internal and external stakeholders, tailoring messages appropriately
  • \n
  • Act as a point of contact for third-party suppliers
  • \n
  • Cover the full lifecycle from discovery through to live
  • \n

What you’ll need:

\n
    \n
  • Strong experience delivering digital project management roles
  • \n
  • Experience leading a team - Experience working collaboratively across boundaries
  • \n
  • Strong Agile knowledge
  • \n
  • Ability to apply appropriate project management methods and tools
  • \n
  • Ability to agree project approach with stakeholders and prepare realistic plans (including quality, risk and communications plans), tracking activities against the project schedule and managing stakeholder involvement as appropriate
  • \n
